Creating a harmonious and respectful living environment is essential for the well-being and satisfaction of all residents in our co-living community. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we have established the following house rules:
1. Respect for Others (Noise, quiet time and civility)
– Treat fellow residents and staff with courtesy, kindness, and respect at all times.
– Be mindful of noise levels, especially during the Quiet Hours between 10pm to 8.30am, to maintain a peaceful environment for all residents.
– Do not use washing machine, dryer or any loud appliances during quiet time. Washing machine and dryer should start no later than 8pm daily. Start your machine early so that it ends before the start of the Quiet Hours.
– Use low volume and headphones at all times (e.g. video conference, streaming videos and music)
– Be properly dressed at all times. Properly dressed means wearing a shirt and a pair of shorts/ pants. Do not appear in bathrobe or bath towel for the comfort of other residents.
– Residents may work night shift and sleep/ rest during the day. Help them out by keeping noise level down.
2. Cleanliness, Hygiene, Pest and Beg bugs
– Keep your living space, including your bedroom and shared areas, clean and tidy at all times.
– Keep food only in the kitchen to prevent pest (ants, houseflies and cockroaches) breeding in your room.
-All travel materials should be cleaned and inspected for pest such as beg bugs. Residents who may
un-intentionally transport beg bugs or pest will have to pay for pest treatment in the property.
– Dispose of trash properly (by 10pm daily) and adhere to recycling guidelines provided by the management.
3. Shared Spaces
– Respect shared spaces such as the kitchen, living room, and bathrooms by keeping them clean and organized.
– Allow other residents to use common amenities/ appliances such as iron, washing machine, dryer, toilets, vacuum cleaner and mop. Keep your usage brief.
– Remove your clothes from washing machine and dryer immediately after use. Set a timer or alarm on your watch, handphone or write a note to yourself or others to remind yourself to remove clothes. Leave a laundry basket so that other residents may remove your clothes for you if they need to use the washing machine/ dryer.
– Check and remove any lint (in the lint collector) or debris from your washing/ drying load immediately after each session.
– Be considerate of others when using shared facilities and appliances and clean up after yourself promptly.
– Keep all bath towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste and other personal toiletries/hygiene items in your own room.
– Respect the privacy of all residents. The use of videos, photos and audio recording to capture any resident’s activities is not allowed.
4. In-house security camera system, sensors (if any) and internet connected devices (WIFI)
– Do not remove any part of the system (e.g. memory cards, disk, cables etc).
– Do not move, reposition, modify, add, remove, amend, insert, disrupt, power down, cover the system.
– Do not access the system physically or digitally at all time.
5. Guests and Visitors
– Inform the management/ HYPER – Host in advance if you plan to have guests or visitors staying overnight.
– Ensure that your guests adhere to the house rules and respect the privacy and comfort of fellow residents.
– For the safety and comfort of all residents, guests should be accompanied at all times in the property.
– For the safety and comfort of all residents, guests should leave the property no later than 10pm.
6. Security and Safety
– Keep doors and windows locked when leaving the premises or going to bed to maintain security.
– Report any maintenance issues, safety concerns, or suspicious activities to the management/HYPER – Host immediately.
7. Smoking, Vaping and Substance Use
– Smoking and Vaping is strictly prohibited inside the co-living premises, including individual rooms and common areas.
– Use of illegal drugs or substances is strictly prohibited on the premises.
8. Only Light Cooking is allowed
– Light cooking is the standard meal preparation expected for all residents in a co-living environment.

- Light cooking ensures that all residents have equal opportunity and adequate time to use the kitchen to prepare their food.
- Light cooking reduces food waste and clean up time.
- Light cooking reduces smell that may be disturbing to different residents.
- Light cooking reduces chance of allergy from cross-contamination from multiple ingredients usage.
– Light cooking means any meal preparation with ready-to-eat meal (RTE). This includes instant noodle or packed food from eateries. Light cooking includes methods such as boiling and steaming to cook the food.
– Dry heat cooking such as drying, deep frying, grilling, roasting, sauteing, baking etc are not allowed. for e.g., Frying rice is not allowed. Steam an egg/ boil an egg instead of frying an egg.
– Any food preparation that involves more than 2 ingredients and requires cutting, peeling, dicing, deboning etc (except for fruits) are not considered light cooking.
– Any food preparation or food that naturally produce a smell prior, during or after cooking is not allowed. Durians, cheese or strong smelling spices are not allowed.
– Light cooking is allowed only in the kitchen, under the kitchen hood/ extractor. Turn on the kitchen hood to suck up any oily vapour to prevent residual natural oil from sticking to floors and walls.
– Do not cook or warm up any food or drinks in the room.
9. Cleaning up, hygiene and trash disposal
– Clean up immediately after light cooking and dispose of trash immediately (to help reduce introducing and provide a source of food for common household pests).
– Clean up the microwave appliance, toasters and surrounding area immediately.
– Keep all food in air-tight container. Do not leave food exposed on the stove as pests are drawn to the smell of the food.
– Wash and dry all cutlery, pots, pans, plates, bowls and any utensils. Remove left over food/ organic debris in the sink by dumping them into a trashbag to be disposed as solid waste. Do not leave overnight.
– Do not dispose of any waste down the sink as this will lead to chokes and clogs.
10. Making changes to the decor and
– Do not remove or re-position any decoratives, ornaments and any items in the property.
– If the items need to be moved temporarily, please place them back immediately.
– The decor is specially curated to create a conducive living environment.
11. Placement/ storage of your belongings
– All personal belongings should be stored in your own room.
– We reserve the right to remove the belonging by means of disposal or returning it to your room.
12. Usage of storage compartments (Cupboards, refrigerator)
– All compartments are labelled for your use. Please keep to your own compartments.
– You must keep your food in air-tight/ spill proof container for hygiene and pest proofing purpose.
– Sealed all opened packaging immediately after use.
– We reserve the right to dispose any food or items that do not conform to the above or pose a hygiene risk.
13. Trespassing
– Always seek permission to enter another resident’s room.
14. Community Engagement
– Participate in community events, activities, and meetings to foster a sense of belonging and camaraderie.
– Contribute positively to the community by volunteering, sharing skills, or organizing social gatherings.
15. Compliance with Laws and Regulations
– Abide by all local laws, regulations, and guidelines, including those related to noise, health, and safety.
– Any illegal activities or behavior that jeopardizes the well-being of residents will not be tolerated.
16. Communication
– Communicate openly and respectfully with fellow residents and management/HYPER – Host to address any concerns or conflicts promptly.
– Inform the management of any changes to your contact information or emergency contacts.
17. Compliance and Consequences
– Failure to comply with the house rules may result in warnings, fines, or eviction from the co-living premises, depending on the severity of the violation.
– The management reserves the right to enforce these rules to maintain the integrity and quality of the co-living community.
By residing in our co-living space, residents agree to abide by these house rules and contribute to a supportive and inclusive living environment. These rules are designed to promote mutual respect, cooperation, and a sense of community among all residents. Live in Singapore.city reserves the right to update or modify these house rules at any time without prior notice. Any changes to the rules will be communicated to residents in advance.
